Pioneering physio teams could claim up to £75,000 to implement and measure their ideas, thanks to the latest round of grants from charity the Health Foundation.

The Health Foundation particularly wants to hear proposals from practitioners in primary care

This is the fourth round of the Health Foundation’s Innovating for Improvement scheme, which aims to support healthcare teams to improve the delivery of services or how people manage their own healthcare.

The foundation particularly wants to hear proposals from practitioners in primary care. Last year, programmes awarded funds from the £1.5m pot included a pilot of a spinal specialist-led patient self-referral clinic in a GP setting, and a mobile phone app to improve self-management in young people with arthritis.

CSP professional adviser Stuart Palma said: ‘This scheme offers an excellent funding opportunity for physiotherapists who have innovative ideas. Finding funding is usually the first pitfall for many great ideas, so I would encourage any physio who is interested to apply straight away.’

The deadline for applications is 3 June, and the Health Foundation will hold a dial-in information call on Friday 20 May. More information can be found by emailing innovating.enquiries@health.org.uk
